FIRST EVER HARUKI MURAKAMI FESTIVAL IN MANILA!

If your barkada is a “Harukist” (a term used to describe hardcore fans of Haruki Murakami) you guys should definitely check this awesome event brought to us by The Japanese Foundation! This is the first ever Haruki Murakami Festival in Manila with a tagline “Experience his works through Music, Films and Talks”.

The festival is divided into 3 segments where you and your friends will have an opportunity to enjoy the world of Murakami’s talent from February to March.

The first segment is “Talk about Murakami”. There will be a three sessions of conferences and will be first kicked-off by Ateneo de Manila University’s Professor Alona Guevarra.

The other two sessions are in partnership with Fully Booked and will be held in their branch at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The second segment is a screening of two award winning film adaptations of Haruki Murakami’s works by Norwegian Wood and Tony Takitani at the University of the Philippines Film Institute.

The last segment will be a two-night concert that will showcase music’s to listen from Murakami’s feels entitled, “Listen to Murakami”. It’s known that Murakami loves to place music references to his works and he used to have a small jazz bar for several years. The concert will also have a spoken word read by David Ezra.

You might be wondering how much the tickets are, well, it’s free! As in LIBRE! Registrations are highly encouraged for the segments Talk about Murakami and Listen to Murakami on February 27.

Movies screening admission fees are for FREE on a first-come first served basis.

Even if you haven’t read any of Murakami’s works this is open to everyone!
