Usually the goal of some
barkada’s when having a very “worth it”
hangout time is to make it memorable as much as possible. Who likes to waste
daylight by doing nothing, right? So for your convenience, here are the top
things to do on a lazy day with your barkada:
GET THOSE UNWATCHED DVD BOXSETS
Throwing a movie marathon with
your barkada is the coolest thing ever. So get those DVD or movie files,
popcorn, dips and shakes, and corn chips. Make it more epic by transforming
your movie marathon into a movie theatre experience and just arrange your sofas
and turn off the lights and voila!
FULL STOMACH BONDING
Your friends are not going to
stick around if they’re having an empty stomach. So for them to stay you all
should mix up your ideas for your food to
share. It’s not going to be memorable if you’re just going to order over
the phone. You can swap family recipes, take turns hosting dinners with
friends, host pot luck dinners based on food themes (something Chinese, Japanese, or Italian) But I’m guessing that
street foods will do just fine.
THE LET’S GET ALIVE ‘n’ KICKING QUALITY TIME
A lazy foot is not included in
the barkada dictionary when having a quality
time outdoors. Host a modern scavenger hunt using technology, download a bike
map application in your smart phones and explore a new part of the city, try to
have a nostalgia hunt at a flea market (look
for anything that you loved as a kid). For simplicity, you can have a nice picnic
in the park; start a nature collection (collect
interesting shaped rocks or shells). And lastly, take a “flip the peso coin” hike in the woods (you can assign each side of the coin as
right or left, and then when you come to a fork in the road, flip to see which
way to go. Just make sure you keep track of where you’re going so you don’t get
lost).
THE TRADE HANGOUT
Your barkada can try the trade
hangout wherein you can have things you wish for that your friend owns and vice
versa. You can try to host a clothes swap day where everyone brings clothes and
stuff they no longer want and everyone goes home with something new, exchange
homes for a night (but that’s a bit
weird?), you can also try to trade gear (let
your friend use your bike while you learn to rollerblade), trade books,
have a board game day or board game night where everyone brings their favorite
game, and trade blogs (you host your
friend’s blog for a day and let him/her host yours and do the same to other
members of the barkada).
